Since 1982 Galpão has on going theatrical activity. During that time there have been many accomplishments and the company has become a reference for Brazilian theater. Always willing to experiment, Galpão is an actor-based company working with visiting directors such as Fernando Linares, Paulinho Polika, Eid Ribeiro, Gabriel Villela, Cacá Carvalho, Paulo José, Ulisses Cruz, Paulo de Moraes, Yara de Novaes, Jurij Alschitz among others. The exchange with theater ensembles and movements from everywhere in Brazil was essential for Galpão to become what it is today. From the beginning the company has searched for its roots in street and popular theater. Today, Galpão is a company that regularly tours around the country, reaching every region in Brazil from north to south, having also performed in 17 European countries, the US, Canada and Latin America.
