Eduardo Moreira
Eduardo da Luz Moreira was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1961. In 1974 he moved to Belo Horizonte with his family. Under the influence of the Jesuit schools where he studied and his atheist father, Eduardo ended up seeing religions as a form of theater and considering theater as his true religion. In the university Eduardo appeared in a few productions staged in the famous building of FAFICH on Carangola Street; among them he appeared in the cast of "Murro em ponta de faca" under the direction of João Marcos Machado Gontijo, Maria Clara Machado’s nephew. Eduardo da Luz Moreira has never been in any formal acting school. Unhappy with his undergraduate majors in Law and then in Letters, he dropped out of college to dedicate to theatre full time. In 1981 Javert Monteiro invited him to be part of the cast of "Me aperta, te aperta, te espeta." This production won the award Prêmio Mambembão and toured in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Back to Belo Horizonte, Eduardo da Luz Moreira joined the workshop by George and Kurt and completed his rite of passage into the world of theater founding Grupo Galpão. He is one of the founders of Grupo Galpão, having participated in all their productions as an actor, as director (Um Molière Imaginário) and director assistant. Eduardo has also developed partnerships with the group Dell’Arte from Blue Lake, in Califórnia and the company Clows de Shakespeare from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte.
