Paulo André
Paulo André was born in Itabirito on February 24, 1963. At the age of fourteen he shuffled between his home town and Belo Horizonte, the state capital where he studied high school and later Pathology at UTRAMIG. In 1983 Paulo André joined Pedro Paulo Cava’s Oficina de Teatro. In 1991 he appeared in the cast of "Dois idiotas assentados cada qual no seu barril," written by Ruth Rocha and directed by Kalluh Araújo. The production failed to attract a large audience, but received good reviews, and Paulo André won an award at Prêmio da Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte. In April 1994, Paulo André was invited by Grupo Galpão to work as Gabriel Villela’s Assistant Director in "A rua da amargura." But Villela was so impressed by the actor that Paulo André was immediately added to the cast of that production. Since then he has been in every Galpão production. In cinema Paulo André acted in “A Fronteira”, Rafael Conde’s 2006 film and “Tricoteios,” a short film directed by Eduardo Moreira and Rodolfo Magalhães in 2007.
