Rodolfo Vaz
Rodolfo Vaz was born in Belo Horizonte in 1961 and after high school joined Fundação Clóvis Salgado’s drama school. In 1981 Rodolfo and Eid Ribeiro found a theatrical company named Grupo Chumbo ou Palha. The company staged "Bicho de pé, pé de moleque," a children’s play directed by Eduardo Rodrigues for two years. In 1984 Rodolfo appeared in the cast of Frank Wedekind’s "O Despertar da Primavera" with Eid Ribeiro as director. Rodolfo participated in Cia Sonho e Drama’s adaptation of Guimarães Rosa’s "Grande sertão: Veredas" directed by Carlos Rocha. In 1986, in London, he worked with the company Theatre de Complicité. Back to Belo Horizonte, he joined Grupo Galpão when the company was about to buy the warehouse that was to become their headquarters on Pitangui Street. Rodolfo Vaz has been a regular member of the company, appearing in the cast of "Álbum de Família," "Romeo & Juliet," "A rua da amargura" (Best Supporting Actor Award Prêmio SESC/SATED in 1994), "Um Molière Imaginário" (Best Actor Award Prêmio Sesc/Sated in 1997), and “Inspetor Geral.” Rodolfo Vaz also worked as assistant director in "Partido". Apart from his work in Grupo Galpão, Rodolfo Vaz appears in M.O.R.T.E., a production of Gerald Thomas’ company and he has worked as a director in Marcelo Braga’s “Chico, Samba e Amor” and Adriana Falcão’s “Mania de Explicação.” At the movies Rodolfo Vaz appeared in the cast of José Araújo’s "As Tentações do Irmão Sebastião," Pedro Bial’s "Outras Estórias," Helvécio Ratton’s "Uma Onda no Ar," Patrícia Moran’s "Perdemos de 1x1," José Sette’s "100% Brasileiro," and Paulo Leite’s "Ela e os Homens"; Helvécio Ratton’s “O Casamento de Yara,” Tiago da Mata Machado ‘s “O Quadrado de Joana,” “5 Frações de Uma Quase História” directed by Lucas Gontijo e Thales Bahia, and “Noite de Domingo” directed by Rodrigo Hinrichsen. On television he appeared in "Sítio do Picapau Amarelo, Caçadas de Pedrinho,” directed by Márcio Trigo; “Hoje é dia de Maria” by Luis Fernando Carvalho; and "A Paixão Segundo Ouro Preto," directed by Cininha de Paula and Rogério Gomes both on Rede Globo; Rodolfo also featured in the cast of "Prestes, a última coluna," directed by Emilio Gallo on TVE and "Agora é com a gente," directed by André Amparo on TV Futura. Rodolfo Vaz also appeared in video productions: "O Famigerado," written by Guimarães Rosa and directed by Aluízio Salles Júnior; "Embolada da Vida Inteira," a reading of the works of Aníbal Machado directed by Chico de Paula; and “Cave canen” de Éder Santos and Paulo Santos.
