Synopsis

That play was written in 1897 by Anton Tchékhov, “Uncle Vania” is about the unavoidable loss of illusions and the eventual need for men to reinvent and face the future. In a decaying rural property in Russia in the end of the 20th century, the text is about the passing time, the physical decline, the hardness of existence, the vagueness, the end of dreams and it includes surprisingly a faith message. The production belongs to the “A trip to Tchékhov“ project, released by Grupo Galpão in 2011.
